Training By Steps Introduction

Training By Steps is a training program that allows learners to work through lessons that you create on a computer at their own pace

		Product Description
		Lessons are broken into a number of steps that learners work through at their own pace. Each step contains some text to be read. This text may describe some task that has to be performed. A step may also contain an attached picture or video clip that helps to explain something about the step. One of the advantages of this software is that trainers can use the associated Lesson Builder program to quickly and easily create their own multimedia lessons. Depending on the level of the learner, lessons can teach simple or complex concepts of computer use. Training By Steps can be used to teach learners how to use any type of computer software.

Practical Use

This program has been successfully used and tested in training scenarios in Uganda, Africa where I worked as a computer teacher for a year and a half. (For details of that experience click here). In about 45 minutes I could create a Training By Steps lesson using Lesson Builder and bring it on a floppy disk to the computer class room and copy it onto all the computers. During practice periods, students would come and work through a lesson that they had already done before so as to reinforce it in their minds.

During classes I used to find myself bored as I went around students asking if they needed assistance - they rarely did
